The Mont Blanc massif extends for a length of about 40km and a width that is between 8 and 15 km, occupying an area of \u200b\u200babout 645 square kilometres. The two sides have two almost antithetical aspects. The Italian one, from the Courmayeur side, is severe as it plummets into the valley; the French one declines more gently.<\/p>\n

Since the dawn of mountaineering, the summit of Mont Blanc has been one of the most sought-after peaks to be conquered. The massif attracts around 15 million tourists every year.<\/p>\n

Most of them go up thanks to the cable cars on both sides of the mountain. The first lift on the Italian side was inaugurated in 1947. In 2015, after 4 years of work, Skyway Monte Bianco, the new futuristic cable car that replaced the previous one, came into operation.<\/p>\n
