The Aosta Valley does not only possess an incomparable natural wealth, but also a fascinating centuries-old history and an artistic heritage of great importance. The castle boasts an ancient history, from 1207 to the present day. During the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, following the extinction of the Challant family, the castle underwent numerous internal changes and in 1970 became part of the assets of the Autonomous Region of the Aosta Valley.
