The history of Courmayeur is shaped around the initiative of its inhabitants and the historic families of the town. Alpine guides, ski instructors and, above all, farsighted and courageous hoteliers. Among the latter, one of the pioneers was Jean Laurent Berthod who in 1882 opened the Maison dei Moro, inaugurating a family story that reaches today through five generations.
