Experienced mountain guide, pioneer of the Aosta Valley Alpine Rescue, mountain photographer. He was responsible for the choice of the name of the refuge, to remember his great friend and great mountaineer Giorgio Bertone, who died in 1977 in a plane crash on Mont Blanc de Tacul.
