First Society of Guides established in Italy and second in the world

In 1850 the precursors of such a noble profession came together in society with the aim of realizing, through a fixed and prestigious structure, a profession that had become the pivot of mountain tourism. Many are the Guides who from then to today have carried high the name of the Society and of Courmayeur, some more famous, others perhaps less, but all driven by the same desire to transmit the passion for the mountains to other users of the Alps.

From Emile Rey, Arturo Ottoz, the Ollier brothers, Bonatti, Zappelli, a path has been traced, a route like those that generally "open" in the mountains, which has allowed subsequent generations to continue to transmit the passion for the mountains.
