The three souls of skiing in Courmayeur
Glamour, nature and adventure; in Courmayeur everyone chooses their own pace

Sunny side and glamour
Plan Checrouit:
the beating heart
of the Courmayeur slopes
One of the most exciting shows that our mountain can give is the phenomenon of the sea of clouds.
Below, Courmayeur is wrapped in mist, a blanket of fog occupies the bottom of the Valley and reaches the slopes of Chécrouit, Mont de La Saxe and Mont Blanc.
Above, the sun shines and the blue sky is so clear that it seems unreal. A clear line separates two worlds: the grey of the bottom of the Valley and the shining one of the high mountain.
It’s on days like this that Plan Chécrouit fully becomes the sunny side of Courmayeur, a must for those who are leaving for the high slopes, a playground for the little ones exploring the snow world, a wonderful balcony in the sun for those seeking relaxation and glamour.
In front of the two ski schools and around their coloured banners, the lively come and go of skiers and instructors in red and white uniforms create a cheerful and busy atmosphere.
The restaurants and bars, with wonderful terraces flooded by the sun, are ready to offer their delights and satisfy every palate.
The lifts that open the door to the area are full of enthusiasts, anxious to go up to Col Chécrouit and towards Cresta Youla.
Up there, where the scenery is breath-taking and the snow is perfectly milled, fun is ensured between curves, jumps and some descents into fresh snow. Then, once back to the “flat bit”, the party and high society that you discover at the end of the day is the icing on the cake: live music, dj sets worthy of the best nightclubs, superb drinks of all kinds and the evening begins, to greet the sunset over Courmayeur.
Snow, nature, Val Veny
Val Veny:
white and wild
MEETING THE ANIMALS OF THE FOREST, MONT BLANC’S EXCITING PANORAMAS ON HAND AND THE SILENCE OF THE MOUNTAIN: THE TRUE NATURE OF THE AREA
Winter snowfalls cover the foliage of the trees and transform the soil into a huge soft and rounded cushion. The slopes from Pré de Pacal and the Courba Dzeleuna go down to the bottom of the Valley crossing through a forest populated by animals nestled between the foliage of the conifer trees.
It often happens that you glimpse a movement between the branches and see a squirrel fleeing between the snowy needles. Other times a trace in the snow reveals the presence of a stoat or a white hare, while in the most hidden corners you may be lucky enough to be thrilled by the sight of an elegant deer or a shy roe deer.
The atmosphere of Val Vény is almost magical: the view of Mont Blanc, imposing and standing out right in front of the ski slopes, the bubbling of the river at the bottom of the Valley, the immaculate slopes that descend to the mountain huts along the Dora make this side of the Courmayeur area the favourite area for those who love, the sometimes wild, mountain nature.
Skiing while admiring the panorama along the slopes or venturing out to explore the off-piste lines in the labyrinth of the woods is an experience that makes a day of snow in Courmayeur special and unmatched.

Adventure dimension
THE EXCITING JOURNEY UN WITH THE SKYWAY TO THEN DESCEND THE TOULA GLACIER AND ALONG THE VALLEE BLANCHE: ADVENTURE IN PUREST FORM
It’s morning in Courmayeur and the light night time snow fall is caressed by the sun. Geometric ice crystals cast sparkling reflections that transform the Valley into an expanse of diamonds.
The light first illuminates the top of Mont Blanc, from which a snow puff draws a white trail in the turquoise sky. The rays then caress one by one, the surrounding peaks: the Grandes Jorasses, the Giant’s Tooth, Mont Blanc du Tacul … The lights are then projected onto the glaciers that cover the slopes of the massif, such as the Brenva and Toula glaciers. And on the latter, some people have drawn elegant lines, as elusive as precious embroideries on a damask silk drape covering the mountain. These slopes, in fact, are one of the favourite terrains for those looking for the strong emotions that only a land of adventure like the high mountain can give.
Going up in the wonderful SkyWay at the Pavillon du Mont Fréty and at the over three thousand metres of Punta Helbronner, freeride enthusiasts find themselves immersed in a world made of red granite towers, blue ice and pure white snow.
From the upper station of the most modern cable car, the routes are all breath-taking: Toula, Marbrée, the Col d’Entrèves. Descents that seem endless, immersed in a unique setting overlooking Courmayeur.
La Vallée Blanche is the infamous route leading to Chamonix, following the winding glacier of the Mer de Glace to Montenvers, a train station for the cog train arriving from the famous French resort.
This dimension of high mountain skiing, which makes the Courmayeur area unique and summons enthusiasts from all over the world, all looking for the unique emotion you feel and to leave their signature on the snow of Mont Blanc.
